I had the privilege once again to be commissioned by my former neighbors to draw their third child. This one is my favourite. She was a pleasure to draw.

My Mother
My grandparents commissioned me to draw a portrait of my lovely mother. Her scarf took a long time to work on, but I think it really completes the picture. I also like the strong contrast of values for this particular portrait. It was quite interesting drawing a family member. I find it’s a nice thing to have. I am sure my grandparents will enjoy it.
Vanitas
Back when I took Drawing I class at North Greenville, for our last project we had to produce three different Vanitas Still-lifes. In the drawings, each object is a symbol and represents something which the drawing talks about as a whole. It was slightly challenging to find objects that gave meaning to the message I tried to convey. A little research did help to give me ideas, and allowed me to bring further meaning into my work than I had anticipated. More work from Drawing I, II, and III will be posted once I have completed the finishing touches.
