Hello! My name is Estelle Erdmann. I’m an English-born German-American artist who seeks to bring back the naturalism in art. I have drawn all my life, but have started to do portraits at the age of twelve in 2007. I began copying pictures out of magazines, and found that by looking at a photo, I could make my drawings be more naturalistic looking. Then in 2009 I made a series of drawings of some BBC characters that I like. It was so much fun to do portraits that were a little different than what many people do. After that, I drew the Pevensie children from Narnia which I really loved doing–being such a fan of the stories. I have done many portraits since then, and I like drawing people the best. I do commissions for those who are interested as well. My talent is a God-given gift, and I want to show people his great work through me. I hope you have enjoyed viewing my artwork as much as I have creating them.

To God be the glory!

A note on my blog’s name:

Postles Lodge was the name of my house in England when I was very young. I wanted to name my blog something British, and my mother suggested to name it “Postles Lodge”. I said, “Perfect”.

You are a very gifted young woman. The story about your naming of your blog reminded me of the home we rented on a farm outside of Newbury when I was stationed at RAF Greenham Common. It was New House, which we found quite humorous, since it was over forty years old!

    • Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy my drawings. I like viewing your blog too. 🙂 That’s very interesting. New House is a rather funny name for a house. I suppose it was new when it was named–but now? The British are inquisitive people sometimes. haha. Well, this made my day!

Great work drawing of portraits!!! You’ve got some good skills there, and I’m also amazed how you took pains to get the score out of listening to the soundtrack! (Chronicles of Narnia – The battle).

    Soli Deo Gloria.

    Hi Estelle
I think you have heat talents and your drawings look very nice.
Do you start from a picture our do you need the situation in front of the person?
    All the best

    • Hello Jean-Claude!

Forgive me for this terribly late reply; your comment has just now been brought to my attention. Yes, I almost always work off of photographs for reference. That way I can take my time in putting in all the detail and getting the drawing right without having to set up appointments with the sitter (especially if they are children) and worrying about changes in daylight.
Thank you so much for writing! Questions are always very welcome. I appreciate your nice comment.
      Kind regards,

Think of you so often, Estelle, with great affection. May the good Lord continue to direct your amazing talent to his eternal glory! With LOVE, PF
